Your Choice. Your Voice. Salem's Future.Election Day — Tuesday, April 6

Why I'm Running

My platform is simple: it's about choices.

And that first choice starts at the ballot box.

In the last mayoral election, the residents of Salem weren't given a choice. Mayor Farley ran unopposed. I believe our community deserves a choice, and I vowed then that the people of Salem would have one.

But this campaign is about more than a choice on Election Day. It's about making sure the people of Salem have a choice and a voice in the future of our city.

I intend to listen — to hear what matters to our residents, understand the challenges facing our community, and work together to find solutions.

City Hall should work for the people of Salem, and if elected, that is exactly how I intend to lead.

“My vision for Salem will always be secondary to the needs and priorities of the people who live here.”
Rick Phillips

So when you walk into the voting booth this election, you will have a choice. And if your choice is Rick Phillips, we will work together to build a brighter future for Salem — not only for us, but for our children and grandchildren.

Choice + Voice

Two promises

Choice

You deserve a choice at the ballot box.

Salem residents deserve the opportunity to consider different ideas, leadership styles, and visions for the future of their city.

Voice

You deserve a voice at City Hall.

That choice should not end on Election Day. Residents should have a city government that listens, communicates, and gives the community a meaningful role in Salem's future.

Your Choice. Your Voice. Salem's Future.

Meet Rick

Raised in Salem. Building in Salem.

Rick grew up a few blocks off Broadway, worked summers at his father's hardware store on Main Street, and bought it from him at twenty-nine. Over two decades he grew it to three locations and forty-one employees — every one of them local.

He served six years on the Salem school board, chaired the downtown business alliance, and coached Little League long after his own kids aged out. Those years taught him the same lesson he's built this campaign on: listen first, then lead.
